Search engines will look at your file name to understand its relevance to the rest of your page’s content. Without a file name, Google will look at the surrounding text. A descriptive file name will help Google and your SEO.
  • Write a description of your photo. This description is the text that people can find when they hover over an image. It should have your keyword; however, the copy needs to be focused on the reader. Although your visitors may not see this text, you must still write one assuming they could.
  • Take your captions seriously. Sometimes, captions may not be appropriate. It only makes sense when you think that a caption can help your readers understand your image. Do not write a caption just to put more jargons in front of your reader.
